An original oil painting with photo editing enhancement.
The Monks are roaming the nether world in search of revelation, traversing forest, mountain, sea and lake. They move under the power of the spirit......their hearts and minds in tune with the infiite One.........Here, they embark on a quest to the holy mountain whose only access is the Lindes-farne bay. In single file they submerge under the sea, walk along the sea bed and emerge the otherside completely dry. They ascend the hollow rock, deep in the bowels of the mountain and reach the coral cathederal............................or is it a rocket-ship?
All of your oilpaintings are so amazing, it was hard to decide which one should be my favorite!
Then I decided to go with the one which grabbed my attention at first. I like it because it's like it remembers me of something forgotten, can't explain exactly why. The submerging monks, they look so wise and determinated. They know what they're doing, where they're going, and how, and why. They have nothing to fear. And before I read what you said about the "rocket-ship", when I looked at those rocks where the monks are going in, I immediately thought of something "cosmic", some connection with the universe and stars, somehow.
(wow what a big comment!)
Oh, and I should say... I think I would prefer to see it without the photo editing! I mean, how the painting is on the "real life", to see how the colors mix and these things...

Dib: Horrible... nightmare... visions! Ms. Bitters: It's called life, Dib. Sit down.
What can I possibly say............only that it is becuase of people such as you (which seem to connect with the meaning of my art) that makes the whole labour so worth while As you yourself know, an artist without an audience is a very unfulfilled soul. Not that we are exhibitionists, ha ha ha! ( Of course we all are.....it is part of our make-up , be it a blessing or a curse). The monks again, express the mystical side to my nature and will appeal to others of a spiritual outlook. It is our pilgrimage they are on. It is our search that they are fulfilling........we must watch and even follow. I have other monk paintings which I might release later, doing extraordinary things on their quest for truth and paradise. I have an ambition to do an animation about their adventures, but alas I know very little about computer graphics. Maybe I will connect with an animation genius on this site and we may produce a feature together. The 'real life' painting is hanging on my wall here. I may present it on site as soon as I take a good photo of it........in the end it depends on the quality of my photography.........uuuugggggh !

If Death is so final, how come skulls are always grinning?
Yes, I think that is, for all that you said, why I so much like this painting of yours. Somehow I saw them as an example to be followed - as guiders, they are walking our own path. They're like masters, but not as something we cannot reach, they could even be the same as us - only we are a little confused and uncertain, and they're not... They're "in tune with the Infinite One"... I like this, "in tune", makes me think of musical harmony. Which may be the same thing.
I'd love to see more monk paintings! And the animation is a wonderful idea. I think it would be rather inspiring... and fun to see the monks "alive"!

Dib: Horrible... nightmare... visions! Ms. Bitters: It's called life, Dib. Sit down.
Alive, yes! It would be like a fantasia of spiritual wonder as they traverse oceans and desert........absolutely nothing stops them.......they cross the Antarctic and build huge crystal cathedrals from ice blocks with spires and domes and towers. They sing high chanting chorals. The Miserere mei, Deus.........and far out rock music...........they fight demons and evil men by using the power of love and truth which is like a lightening strike to darkness.........I really get excited thinking about the possibilities.........something to inspire the world instead of depressing it. So many people have a negative vibe towards Christianity.........they only see a corrupted version........but my monks would fight the greed and averice and go to Rome and expose the rich and corrupt. It could even be a very revolutionary animation. I feel that true Chritianity is a true perfect diamond...........but there are so many glass imitations, that this is all the world sees and it is an extremely tacky almost plastic replication. It is no wonder why many reject it. My monks would be in search of the source of all truth and peace and love.........crushing all the replicas beneath their sandaled feet. When in the end they find it........they are permitted to chip a tiny peice off and plant it into the heart of every person they meet. Also I like the idea that they are ordinary people like you or I..................not that I ever think that anyone is 'ordinary' but sometimes we are made to feel that way by an ignorant society.

Oh, it can be quite frustrating to have such wonderful ideas in mind, and not be able to make them happen, at least not immediately!... It's been a while that I have been thinking about learning computer graphics to do animations myself. Maybe one day or another You could, at least, write down your ideas - so it's a first step to bring them to reality!
You know, I'm not sure what I think about Christianity. I think I may have this "negative vibe" towards it, but for what it's become - corrupted. I believe the original concept is far more pure, is about knowing what love is, what amazing things we can do, the power we have to do "miracles"... knowledge and wisdom and everything. But Christianity nowadays has become something very far from all of that, it's incomplete, meaningless, empty. So the original idea must be brought to life again - but I think there's no need to call it Christian anymore. It's something universal.
But of course - that's what I think. Afterall, it's just names you give it. "You can call a rose any other name, it will still be a rose"... I dunno. I prefer not to name it. I just believe in things.

Dib: Horrible... nightmare... visions! Ms. Bitters: It's called life, Dib. Sit down.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
